The Royal Philatelic Society London is delighted to announce the forthcoming publication of Douglas Muir and Pragya Jain’s philatelic work. Indian philately was something the King-Emperor George V took a keen personal interest in. The transition of stamp design and production from the familiar origins with the firm of De La Rue and Co. in London to the creation of the Security Printing Press in India is a process that the King-Emperor would have followed personally. The King-Emperor’s Stamps 1910–1936 tells that story in detail for the first time and represents a significant contribution to our knowledge of Indian philately.

The book comprises 328 pages and will sell in a softback format for £30 retail, £25 to members (plus postage) (POSTAGE WILL BE INVOICED PRIOR TO DELIVERY). Given that books are likely to be wanted by many members from India the Society will take pre-orders for the soft back and intends to organise a bulk delivery to Patna. Any members in India wishing to pre-order their copy should email adminsecretary@rpsl.org.uk to make this arrangement before 1 October 2026.

The soft back will also be available in the normal way via the website or from the Abchurch Lane office. The book will also be available, only by pre-order, in hardback for £100 retail, £90 to members (plus postage). Any members in wishing to pre-order a hardback copy should email adminsecretary@rpsl.org.uk to make this arrangement before 1 October 2026.
